We will be switching back and

We will be switching back and forth between "Albert" and "Einstein" units for a while - at least until they get the "bugs" out of the Albert process. And, Albert units are of variable length but are generally quicker than Einstein units. Sounds like you don't have a problem after all. There are a couple of "Albert" threads you might want to browse through. Here's one and here is the other.

Albert has been beta tested.

Albert has been beta tested. But I don't know of a single software product that goes live and does not encounter problems. only time will tell if there are real problems or not.

So far, I have been having good luck with ALbert, and have 3+ ready to report again. Looks like my G5 is doing them in less than an hour, or at least this batch ...

FOr my P4s, it looks like the time is down from 11+ hours to about 8 ... not sure, have not done too many yet for the PCs...

Perhaps the older machines are still working off Einstein work units, and the new started up right away with Albert 4.37's?

All my machines, 30 or 31 of 'em now, are running 5.2.13 which I believe is the default when you download the app... None of the boxes are running Albert...

I think there's a misconception here - 5.2.13 is the version of the BOINC Client, while 4.79, 4.37, etc. are versions of the Einstein science application. Science application version numbers don't necessarily go in order; 4.79 is the oldest that's "current", 0.11 (?) is newer than that, then 4.37 is the newest...

Yeah... so I discovered... As mentioned above, about 10 of my boxes are running 4.37 and the Albert work units...

I came in late... I actually loaded this thread and started to reply and then had to leave for several hours. Should have reloaded before posting... :-(

Not a problem, sir... I don't get twisted by someone hopping onto a thread... I've done it myself more than once...

Thanks for taking the time to respond!
