Hello all, I'm totally new at this. After seeing the article about the discovery I had to be part of this cool project. Anyhoo, I've ran some work packets for less than 24 hours total and a couple that I've seen have completed and yet said 'Computation Error'. I'm wondering if this is cause for concern or should I dismiss this as commonplace?
BTW, I run an overclocked Intel Q9550 @ 3.88Ghz on an EVGA 780i SLI mobo, along with a pair of overclocked (700/1100/1750) EVGA 9800GX2's in SLI. I can separate all 4 GPU's to run independent of one another. My question is how do I maximize the number crunching capability on my water cooled CPU and GPU's? What settings specifically in 'Preferences' need to be set? Thanks in advance for any input in this matter. Happy Hunting!!!

Looks like you have a stuck task in memory, or something else very memory intensive is using the videocard at the same time you are using it to run CUDA.
I found this in your logs: CUDA memory allocation problem encountered!
That points to a task being stuck and taking up (lots of) video memory. The only way to resolve this is to reboot.

I think the most critical setting you'll want to review is "Suspend work if CPU usage is above XXX %". To fully utilize your machine, you might want to set this to "0" (meaning: no restriction), the default value is 25 %.
Other "power user" settings are:
"Suspend work while computer is in use?" NO
"Suspend GPU work while computer is in use? " NO
All this is assuming that this PC is used primarily for BOINC and BOINC performance is the top priority.
I'm glad to see that your PC returned the first results successfully already! You might have noticed that the GPU app, while faster than the CPU app on your computer, isn't THAT much faster. This will change with the next generation of GPU apps at Einstein@Home which will put more load on the GPU and less on the CPU. Stay tuned.

I'm building a system right now that will utilize the Intel 5520/ICH10R chipset. The mobo is an EVGA Classified SR-2, which supports Dual QPI Socket 1366 Intel Xeon 5600 and 5500 processors. In accompaniment to that I have 4 EVGA GTX 480's that are water cooled. I haven't worked out how I'm going to power all these beasts, but I'm thinking about running separate 1200W power supplies. One PS will run 2 cards and the other PS will run the remaining 2. Then run a 1000W to the mobo and peripherals. Any thoughts?
