That's what it says in my "Results" about one item...does this mean I will never get the credit or do they have to think about it? What would make it inconclusive? I accidentally turned the pc off at one point and turned it back on within a few minutes. I don't know if this item was being processed at that time - could that have affected something.
It does say "pending."
Thank you.

"Completed, Validation Inconclusive"
)
Every tasks you process in your hosts are also sent at least to another user.
When both results are returned the system compares both them and if there is something that doesnt match, the same task is sent to a 3rd user, and is marked as inconclusive while wait for the new result.
When this third user returns the result the validation mechanism will be able to determine what results are correct (it may be just 2 of them or even all of them). If your result turns to be invalid then you wont get the credits.
Restarting the computers should not trash the tasks, but it may happen if you turned it off without the propper shut down...
So my completed task doesn't
)
So my completed task doesn't match the duplicate task's result obtained by someone else? And we are waiting for a third pc doing the same task to settle it?
Very interesting. So glad I asked..
Thank you so much..
RE: So my completed task

If you check the actual workunit on the webpage you will see this:
minimum quorum 2
initial replication 2
max # of error/total/success tasks 20, 20, 20
That first line means that it takes 2 pc's to agree to a result, mathematically NOT exactly!
The next line means it is initially sent to 2 pc's.
The last line means it will keep getting sent out up to 20 times until they either get 2 pc's to agree, or mark it for in-house computation.
