Hello to all the community;

Briefly, i chosed as username GIPICS, as reported in my profile page and under column account in the boinc manager.

https://einsteinathome.org/it-it/account/212932

But in the statistic i am listed as admin_195

In my account, under the section profile i've checked it thousands of time, is correctly written and reported GIPICS.

How and where to change the name which is seen and used to represent me in the best user's statistics page??

thanks in advance

We're aware of this issue and are actively working on fixing it.

Basically all accounts have two usernames, one that you can change (your BOINC username) and one that cannot be changed (your "Drupal" username). The site should use the BOINC username everywhere as the Drupal username is an internal name.

hello and thank you for your

hello and thank you for your interesting reply.

I would like to know if there are some news from that " drupal (?!?) side ".

Is this frustrating issue going to be solved? is there something that i can do from my side?

is quite annoying to see that i appear in statistics as un unknown admin_195. Even me, for the beginning. wans't able to understand that thatadmin_195 was me .. i was struggling...

Could be useful to begin with a new username? or, there is the risk that is going to happen again and i will appear as admin_196 or admin_197?:-(

And why this happens to me and not on others users on statistics?

tnx in advance

Ok we will be waiting but

Ok we will be waiting but until this bug still exist, we just will deploy less power crunching, donating it to projects that recognize our merits as we deserve.

We stay in touch..

Hello   I've just got

Hello

I've just got started on BOINC recently and I've been trying out various projects to get a feel how long the tasks are and what they demand. Just casually having my lightly used modest machine crunching during the day on the side. Einstein seems like a good place to put my potential processing power what with the discoveries being so new.

Anyhows um, one minor thing though that after I added the Einstein project to my BOINC client and filled out my pw and email my chrome browser then pops up like everywhere else to set my name/location and team however in this case here this website told me error or not up or something. I think it just assumed my window's local account username when I didn't want that. Getting to change it from that would be nice. Minor thing but thank you I'd like to keep my user handle different from my own name.

I'd still crunch but I'd like that to be fixed.

If you go to your Account -> Preferences -> Community you will find that you can change your user name there.

There are other settings/parameters you can change in all sorts of odd corners of the site.  Have a browse through the various tabs, menus and sub-menus.  There's a lot of stuff to find :-).

When you need assistance, please ask.  There are quite a few regulars that are willing to respond.  Unless your problem/issue is exactly the same as an existing one, it's always best to start your own thread rather than recycle something vaguely similar.  Using the exact error message (or part of it) for the thread title is always a good thing to do.  People familiar with that message are likely to respond immediately.  If you can include more details/exact sequence of events, etc., it will enable better responses.

Anyway, ask again if the above doesn't fix what you need to do.

Cheers,
Gary.
