Right, I have a problem running boinc on on machine, becouse ther already sits IIS. Some bloody service under IIS is occupying port 1034 already.
I cannot start boinc becouse of that. Since I don't know what IIS is doing on 1034, i'd like to change the port, or switch listening off at all.

Well, that is no wonder. It

Well, that is no wonder. It listens to GUI, which is separated programm/task. GUI(boingmgr) calls client(boing) to give him stats and stuff. And also GUI gives commands to client. All this happens via TCP socket.
And in the first post, of course I mean 1043 port...

Port 1043 is officially

Port 1043 is officially assigned to the boinc client by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). So if you have another application using that port, you should change the port there. ;)

Yes, that's right. Still,

Yes, that's right.
Still, this doesn't solve the problem. I will not mess with IIS.

The BOINC port cannot be

The BOINC port cannot be changed. Are you certain that it is not Active Sync causing the problem, it is known to grab every available port on the machine? In either case, the correct technique for fixing the problem is to load BOINC first, that way it gets the port, and the other program should succeed without it.
