Dave, I see you're now the BoincStudio master for America hours ;)

Just a little precision, BoincManager isn't require by BoincStudio. However, boinc.exe is required (BoincManager launchs boinc.exe if not running). You can launch boinc.exe in command line window, or better, under service.

I guess those French immersion classes in school are finally paying off!

One question though, how do I launch boinc.exe as a service? It does not appear in the windows service manager.

You have to reinstall the boinc official version and choose to install it as service. You can do it under another directory and modify the registry after.

I am running Boinc Studio as with boinc installed in single user mode ie not a service. Boinc Studio seems to work just fine. The only down side is both Boinc Studio and Boinc Manager are are running, this does not seem to cause any problems.

you can even just end the process under task manger.

As long as boinc.exe and the albert app are running you don't need any "manger".
I do this on my PII because boincmgr.exe eats up cycles (2% not much, but needless) on that slow of a rig. One thing to note is that if neither boincmgr.exe nor boincstudio.exe is running WUs will still be crunched but there will be no network access.

Right! and Boinc Studio does not have any trouble reconnecting if you terminate it.

couple of things Don't kill

couple of things
Don't kill boincmgr until after you start Boinc Studio
The travail shows invalid state 5 between the time upload finishes and the WU is reported
Setting the number of CPUs to 8 seems to work ie E@H shows 8 CPUs but the project tab only shows 2 and I can not download any additional work units.
This great stuff and is allowing me to utilize the science apps optimizations to fullest advantage (at least under windoze).
Oh, and I don't seem to be able to resume suppended results.

I'm getting this too, though it doesn't seem to affect anything.
