We have already request this feature to DocMaboul, but for now, he doesn't see what it could give to user. He asked for a list of requesters. I add you on the list.

On one of my machines, the Manager in Boinc Studio loads, pops up a window that reports that it's suspended and later goes to the screen saver at which point it locks up. (No, I don't have any screensaver enabled) It's host 440218. Loading boinc.exe without the manager works fine. Any ideas?
What designates "Backup mode" in properties of project in BS?
It's an option that let you work for a main project (or more) and choose an other project, which will be used only as a backup project. This means the backup project will ONLY be run if your main project(s) is out of work for any reasons (project server is down, you reached the daily quota on WU...).
This is just to allow you to work on your favourite project(s) but without risking of leaving your CPU IDLE, in case of theses running out of work. Very clever option, indeed.
You can set one ore more projects to be run in backup mode.
