    BOINC ran for about 5 days then seemed to get hung up at 98% completion. Since at that time I had not discoverd the Message Boards, I un-installed the program and then re-installed it. It now will not launch. The stderr.txt window is empty and the stdout.txt window contains the following:

      Hi ackles

      Read through this thread for a solution Boinc will not load up

      You'll need to wait until the SAH forum is up, before clicking on the hyperlink in my message.

      I'll need to speak to Paul and see about getting this problem and it's solution added to the FAQ if it hasn't been already.

        Thank you for your reply. Your suggested solution was a bit beyond my capabilites. However, I did a system restore to a week ago, but this didn't work. I then un-installed version 4.19 and installed version 4.24 and so far it appears to be working OK.

            Much of the problem is from the project with the blank URL. You have to get rid of this one. If you have no work on your system, the easy way is to uninstall BOINC, delete the BOINC directory and start over. There is a way to get rid of the project with the blank URL by editing things, but I don't remember what it is.

              I was having a similar problem due to the cable modem going off-line for several hours. I solved it by entering the following command line

              "C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinc_cli.exe" -detach_project http:///
