I run SETI 1/3 share and Einstein 2/3 share on a Toshiba laptop with an Intel Celeron, 256MB Ram, with XP service pack one. Einstein wu's ran without problem under BOINC v4.19.

I uninstalled BOINC V 4.19 and installed BOINC V 4.25 (single user)seemingly without problem, but have gotten the following error message on all 3 Einstein wu's run under Einstein application V4.79 so far.

3/9/2005 11:00:36 PM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result H1_1152.9__1153.2_0.1_T03_Test02_1 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))
3/9/2005 11:00:36 PM|Einstein@Home|Computation for result H1_1152.9__1153.2_0.1_T03_Test02 finished

No Einstein wu's have successfully completed under BOINC V4.25 running Einstein appliction V 4.79 and they tend to end with this error fairly quickly. This never happened under v4.19.

SETI has not yet exhibited the same problem but has not completed any wu's yet.

Also, some functionally, like clicking the project label on the work tab to order projects wu's together, has been lost.

BOINC manager information display even went blank after hiding and then opening BOINC manager, as if there were no projects, wu's, messages, or disk usage, even though the task manager indicated Einstein application V4.79 was still running. Exiting and restarting the manager didn't restore the missing information. Re booting and restarting the BOINC manager may have resolved this problem as the projects information returned, but not sure what resolved the problem. v4.19 never lost display info like this.

Finally, the show graphics and the abort results links under the task pane are uncomfortably close together for a laptop with a touch pad that's also used to click for selection and sometimes nervous.

BOINC V4.25 unrecoverable errors with Einstein WU's

This is a problem that is affecting many. I was running into this with CC 4.22, and upon further investigation found that people with CC 4.19 who also processed my WU was having the same prob.

From what Bruce was telling me, there was a problem and a new version of the science app would be comming out. But effectively, since WUs that give this problem is ALL that has been uploaded to my computer, I'm also getting quarum probs with "x number WUs already downloaded, no work sent". Every WU where I've had this problem, everyone else, or all but 1 person had this problem, out of a fairly large number of attempts to schedule the WU.

BTW, more info on this prob in my thread here

Just an observational update.

Just an observational update.

I'm not sure if it's a wu problem, or some conflict between the Einstein application and the V4.25 BOINC manager.

I noticed that when I clicked the show graphics, displayed the WU graphics for several seconds, and then closed the graphics window, several seconds later the wu experienced an unrecoverable error.

This doesn't happen with SETI graphics display.

If I don't show the graphics display, the WU's appear not to experience an unrecoverable error and run to successful completion. Will keep on observing to see if this remains the case on future WU's.
