My T60 laptop starts up every now and then without starting BOINC. This was one of those times. So I started BOINC from the START MENU shortcut I have pointing to the boinc .exe file. The manager popped up a window saying that it was "not able to connect to a client."
After searching in vain for the clients I had a stupid idea (which fixed the problem and is the cause of this post) - start BOINC from the desktop shortcut.
I did and it had 2 clients in it as always. The other manager had none. So I killed the non-client containing manager from the task bar. Two BOINC icons are worse than one.
Before I wrote this I checked both shortcuts - they are identical - they both point to the same exact .exe file in the same exact folder.
Thus the post; thus the title.
Any answers? Is BOINC schizophrenic?
thx in advance!
