yes, i know, not the right board, but i dont want to make yet ANOTHER account.

today we had a transformer blow, and in my settings i have it set to not do work on battery power in hopes of letting the pc run a bit longer on battery. but i checkd. and sure enough boinc was still chuggin along.

so i take it boinc can not see UPS status info?

p.s. i "think" i can set the ups software to execute a command on power failure. i dont know about restore, but, what would be the windows command line to suspend or exit boinc. and on vista will this require "escalation" ?

seeing without seeing is something the blind learn to do, and seeing beyond vision can be a gift.

To shutdown a Service install of BOINC on Windows you use NET STOP BOINC
Non-service install--run: BOINCCMD.exe --quit

My UPS has a USB cable running into a USB port and Windows recognizes when it's running on battery (XP Pro).

Seti Classic Final Total: 11446 WU.

BOINCCMD.exe --quit works with both types of install :-)
