I recently installed the BOINC app on my Samsung Galaxy S7, and - for short runs - its fine.  However, if I let BOINC run Einstein@Home tasks overnight, I get the following message:

Quote:

Device Maintenance

Some apps or processes are overloading the system (CPU) and need to be closed

It hasn't crashed my phone (yet), but I'm not wild about the possibility.  Can anyone recommend alternate settings to avoid this?

You're probably overheating

You're probably overheating your phoneand need to reduce the CPU load.

Under preferences on this site, reduce "Use at most % of the processors" from 100 to 75% initially to turn off one of the phones 3 big cores.  If it still overloads you can try dropping to 50% or 25%.

To avoid impacting your PC's performance, make sure it and your phone are in different preference sets.  ex leave your PC in generic, and put your phone in home; then change the settings for home.

Or do it the other way around, leave the phone on generic and put the PC on one of the others. I seem to remember something about Boinc on Android only using the generic prefs, it might have been fixed by now but if it doesn't work at first try something else.
