What ist this? I'm running BOINC (SETI, LHC and Einstein) on a 160 MByte ramdisk since more than a year. Suddenly it complains about not enough disk space? What have you changed on your end, cause i didn't do anything?

Einstein@Home - 2005-11-28 20:07:58 - Sending request to scheduler: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/EinsteinAtHome_cgi/cgi
Einstein@Home - 2005-11-28 20:08:02 - Scheduler RPC to http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/EinsteinAtHome_cgi/cgi succeeded
Einstein@Home - 2005-11-28 20:08:02 - Message from server: No work sent (there was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated) Not enough disk space (only 46.8 MB free for BOINC). Review preferences for minimum disk free space allowed.
Einstein@Home - 2005-11-28 20:08:02 - No work from project
Einstein@Home - 2005-11-28 20:08:02 - Deferring communication with project for 1 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds

BTW: There are more than 120 MBytes free on that disk and BOINC knows that on it's disk space tab!

Bogus error: Not enough Disk space?

I had the same thing happen a week ago on my only Linux box. It was chugging along fine for days, and then suddenly this error, on all boinc projects... Fiddled with all the settings, never could get rid of the error.

Deleted boinc on that box, and am running folding@home on it now.

Boinc, so far, still runs ok on my macs.

There are a couple of threads

There are a couple of threads on Problems and Bug Reports that deal with this issue. One is called "Disk Space" and the other "no disk space".

I've already read that

I've already read that threads yesterday and once more today and didn't find a solution or an announcement there. I've changed nothing, so it's on Einsteins end.

If, indeed, you read those threads, then you know the problem is a "work in progress" AND you know there is a request for information from users who have the problem. You also know there is a suggestion to change disk preference settings along with a detailed explanation of why that might help.

So I guess THAT explains why you did nothing!

These are my til now working

These are my til now working settings since >1 year for a 160 MByte ramdisk:

Use no more than 0.16 GB disk space
Leave at least 0 GB disk space free
Use no more than 99% of total disk space

So Mr. "I know it better": What should i change?

I see you have also posted over on "Problems and Bug Reports" now. That's a better place for it. You might want to add some information about your computer OS over there as well as info on which BOINC version and Einstein version you are running (or, alternatively you could "unhide" your computer via your web-site preferences).

I apologize for my earlier "snippy" response (I have had better days) and I will attribute your awkwardly worded and aggressively written posts to the fact that English is not your first language - a fact I was not aware of earlier.

Accepted, but please tell me what exactly was awkwardly worded and aggressively written (Wich, in fact, could be interpreted as an offence against me) by me, cause i never had difficulties in business communication in English :P

Suggested improvement:

Thank you! I saw those threads yesterday and they really didn't help. I was hoping to find a solution but it doesn't look like there is one yet. I haven't changed any of my settings yet because I think they already conform to what has been recommended. Is there any additional information I could provide that might help find the problem?

But I am not being critical. If I had attempted to reply in German, we would still be trying to say "hello" to each other.

Ok, next time i will try to write my posts exceptionally polite, fawning and sycophantly.
Sorry for appearing unkindly...
