Basic question about upgrading BOINC

I would like to know about upgrading BOINC from 4.19 to 4.45. (OS:WindowsXP CPU:IntelPentium4)
1. Is 4.19 unistalled automatically or overwritten by installing 4.45 ?
2. If not. How to uninstall 4.19 ?
3. Is there any notice I must be careful in the upgrading ?

Shut down Boinc first...............................
Unistall 4.19 using windows add remove feature in the control panel......
install 4.45 and follow instrutions on the screen.....

The installer was changed between 4.19 and 4.20. Any upgrade that bridges this will require an uninstall followed by an install.
The uninstall will not destroy work. The exception is occasionally CPDN does not like to be shut down.
