Since machines are coming out that are multi core it'd be a nice perk to be able to assign an individual CPU to a project.

For example, CPU 1 work einstein, CPU2 work worldgrid CPU 3 work etc etc etc.

Or maybe like a grid where each project is shown with a check box for each cpu in your system and you can click which cpu's you want that project to use or not.

Just thinking out loud... ignore the short fat troll in the corner :D

That's easy ;-) He's on the wrong forum anyway.

That would be a BOINC feature, not an Einstein@home one.

Im sorry, in the forum index on wish list, it says to post features we'd like to see for Boinc and einstein@home. Ill go over to the boinc forum and see if I can post somewhere there.

Nothing to be sorry about.

Nothing to be sorry about. :-)

I didn't mean that you aren't allowed to post that wish here, but if you want it to be seen by people who don't ignore it (or the troll:-), the BOINC boards or, better yet, the mailing lists are a better place for it.

Gruß,
Gundolf
PS: And I don't guarantee that it is not ignored there either. ;-)

Dr. David Anderson, the creator of Boinc, thinks this is a bad idea and currently has no plans to implement this idea, although we have asked for it for several years. There is a Boinc Mailing List you can sign up for to put your requests on.

Not a bad idea, just not

Not a bad idea, just not helpful enough to be of merit. See here, one of the frequently asked and frequently rejected items. :P
