I've been running Einstein@Home for well over a year with very few problems, but during the last week, I must be snakebit. To try to get a machine that appeared to be stuck, I followed the instructions in the help file and pressed the reset button. Now I have nothing! Nothing running, no work, zippo. Is it possible to get this machine running again?

I'm now also getting a message "missing account key"

Any help appreciated.

The Einstein@Home project has been having database problems over the last two weeks. Your client will likely continue to have problems connecting to E@H until the problems are sorted out on our end. We are working on the problem and will try to have it solved as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

At present the Einstein server has some problems and is unresponsive from time to time, so that could be the problem when trying to get new files during a reset process. Try to detach the project, then check that the subdirectory in the - folder of the BOINC client is removed, and then try to re-attach to the Einstein project. Parallel you should load the message board of Einstein into your web browser and move through the different threads to be sure the server is responsive at the time you re-attach to the project.

Yes, that rings a bell. I believe I had the same problem with the same machine over a year ago. Turned into an alldayer. May let this machine rest for bit if I cannot connect. If I had known the resest was going to delete all of my future work (just downloaded 20MB yesterday on a dialup.) It's only a 1.25 Ghz machain so it won't be missed all that much. Translation, if after a couple more cups of coffee I start to feel ambitious, I may decide to re-download all of the data I downloaded yesterday. They need to put a warning on that reset button as I had no idea it was going to delete almost everything.
thanks

I Did everything you instructed but reached a point where it asked for the email addy I used to register(I sure it's correct) but have lost my pw. Rather that have a simple "retreive password" procedure, it asked for that 30 character key which also failed. Is there a just a simple way I can retrieve my PW and re-attach and begin downloading countless MB of data via my dialup. If anyone is aware of one, please advise, I would appreciate it very much. I've already spent over hrs fighting this thing, and if there is no way to retreive a simple 6 digit PW, I think I'll just throw in the towel.
