If you check your preferences, here what does it say after "Do work while computer is in use?" ??
If No, then either Seti or Einstein will only crunch when your computer is idle. So at all other times, when you move your mouse or hit a key on your keyboard, the units will not be crunched.
If it's set to Yes, then please open Boinc Manager.
Go to your Projects tab, select the Seti project, check if there's a button on the left called "Resume" ... click it so it changes to "Suspend".
Do the same with the Einstein project.
If that won't help either, check your Messages tab.
Is BOINC maybe stuck in doing its benchmarks?
