The credit I received for this was way out of whack, which is what prompted me to look.

My AMD64 consistently turns in a WU, taking in the 22000 range to complete one. A machine taking less than 3 minutes is someone with a messed up BOINC install. I'll leave whether they're aware of this in the middle.

Something in the verification process on the server isn't working either. It oughta be able to see that the under 3 minute result can in no way be similar to the results taking others 6 hours.

(Not unless WU sharing is happening, and wasn't BOINC supposed to be resistant against this kind of tampering?)

At it is I'm a bit worried about the validity of the science if the verification on the server misses things like this.

abnormal WUs / verifier not working?

Both of these workunits were run with application version 4.71 which had a bug that incorrectly reported cpu time which in turn resulted in the low credit request. The results however were valid. I believe this was corrected in version 4.72.

Ah good. I'm glad to hear it

Ah good. I'm glad to hear it wasn't the verifier slipping up or someone managing to cheat :)

Thanks for the prompt explanation.
