hey guys

ive got a little problem with my machine. its equipted with 3 gtx 580 but my monitoring program sais that only two are used in processing the einstein stuff...

i tryed every possible setting but im not able to get all gpu´s working.
if i do something else, a game for example, everithing works fine. it seems to me that boinc is only able to use 2 gpu´s
is this right?

lastly another little question:
it says in the boinc manager at the task index tab
in the app file :...blah...blah...(BRP4cuda32nv301)
does it (the stuff in the brackets) mean that only these tasks are proccessable by means of the gpu´s help and the other ones not?

sorry if i sound like a noob but my english is as bad as my knowledge about boinc ^^

Please post the Boinc startup messages from the Event Log, the first 20 to 30 lines will do,

it's probably because of the Wacky Nvidia GPU Memory Bug in Boinc 7.0.27 to 7.0.35, upgrading to eithier Boinc 7.0.36 or 7.0.42 will fix that,
(but because of a internal GPU flops change you should complete any GPU tasks first prior to upgrading, otherwise your GPU tasks will be on the verge of going Maximum Time Exceeded)

Or configure in a cc_config.xml to bypass that Bug.

Sure it can use all GPUs, but I think you need to tell it. Create in the data folder of BOINC the file "cc_config.xml" and put the values below, then restart BOINC

Yes, the tasks with 'cuda' in their name are for GPUs

@microchip the question about

@microchip
the question about the cuda tasks was more like: are ONLY this tasks processed by means of the gpu´s?

Not as generally as that. CUDA tasks only run on Nvidia GPUs, they do not run on AMD or Intel GPUs.

In the case of AMD, there will be OpenCL-ATI in the name (since AMD used to be ATI).
At the time of writing there's no Intel GPU support here yet.

Just clearing that up, as you wouldn't want to know how many people with non-Nvidia GPUs think that CUDA runs on any brand GPU.
