Hello,

Is there a bug with beta einstein 003 for windows?

I was first to report a result for my work unit and Einstein@Home indicates that Server state is Over, Outcome is Success, Client state is Done, claimed credit is 71.13, yet granted credit is 0.00. It was my first work unit processed with beta einstein 003 application for windows, but is this a reason to deny my credits?

You can check for yourself at:

http://einsteinathome.org/host/219123/tasks

If you find that I should have been granted my credits, please do so. I realize that what I do is volunteer work, but my credits are the only reward I get for my time, expense and involvement.

Thanks,

Pierre

Not getting credit granted for a WU result returned can happen at any time, for any reason on any project. There are no guarantees that credit will be awarded to you for any WU you crunch. The validation process is especially suspect on beta applications such as the 003 app you volunteered to use. Is there a bug? Possibly. Did you help uncover it and prevent it from making it into the much wider public project? Quite possibly.

Doesn't the nature of volunteer work contain a significant measure of selflessness? Why do you need credit granted in all your work to maintain the reward factor to keep you interested in the beta project?

And I thought we needed 3

And I thought we needed 3 Valid results to grant credits here on E@H.
3 successful returns so far but only 2 valid ones.(when I wrote this) and granted credit for these two.

Actually, the quorum is

Actually, the quorum is formed when there are 3 successfully finished results. Their validity is not known at that stage. When the validator checks, usually all three are valid and all is sweet. However occasionally one is found to be inalid but the quorum isn't then "unformed". The remaining two get the credit and the quorum "sticks". I've seen this happen before so the above is what I think is happening.

Cheers,
Gary.

Given that you show no interest towards claiming credit for your own work, would you consider awarding me the Total credit of 38,495.91 points you have accumulated until now? This would fortify your soul, I am sure, and show the World how selfless you are.

LoL Heck, I never said I,

LoL Heck, I never said I, was selfless! I certainly haven't shown a lack of interest in claiming credit for my own regular project work. My stats are right there in my sig. ;)
