I'm from Eagle Creek, Oregon. I retired from the USAF after 20 years and became a mainframe computer programmer for 18 years. I am 66 years old. I have a wonderful wife and four grown kids, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. My hobbies are computers(I have 11), hunting, and fishing. I started with SETI@home on Jun 22,1999 using the screen-saver. After several months, my youngest son suggested that we use the command-line version and we hooked up his computer as well. Over the years, as I built a new computer to replace my older, slower one, I couldn't bear to throw the old one away. I would add it to my network, running SETI. I used SetiQueue in conjunction with SetiSpy to handle everything. Toward the end, we were averaging in the neighborhood of 60 units per day. I was reluctant to switch over to BOINC because of the ability of SetiQueue to keep a good supply of units to process on hand, and to handle the upload of results at one time each day. During the last few days of Nov 2005, it became impossible for SetiQueue to upload results. They were being rejected as duplicate returns. I decided it was time to switch to BOINC, and here I am.
