I am a postdoc at the LIGO Livingston Observatory just east of Baton Rouge, LA. I received my Ph.D. from Penn State University and have been working with LIGO since 1999.
I specialize in data analysis for short duration gravitational wave signals from unknown or unanticipated sources. These are referred to as bursts. Now that I am located at one of the observatories, I have also been working on detector characterization, and calibration. I am also fortunate to be able to work in educational outreach through the LIGO Science Education Center located at the observatory in Livingston.
In my spare time, I like to read books (without equations!) and listen to music.

I run Einstein@home since I am an LSC member and have a vested interested in LIGO.
My Ph.D. dissertation specifically focused on data analysis methods for detecting burst gravitational waves. While Einstein@home looks for a different kind of gravitational wave, I am more than happy to give my MANY unused CPU cycles to this effort.
I also encourage any other Penn Staters, Alum or fans to join the Einstein@Penn State team.
