Let's see...
I love building computers! I love working with them. I get a great pleasure out of diagnosing a problem and figuring out how to fix the computer. I really get ecstatic when I discover that my initial suspicion, about the problem, turns out to be the correct one. Since 1989, there have been very, very few days where I was not doing something with a computer.
I first started BOINCing for SETI, in July 2004, when I discovered a link to it on the old SETI Classic forum. Not long after that, I attached to 2 other projects also running on BOINC. Then in early 2005 I attached to Einstein@home.
I do not remember why I quit crunching for Einstein, or any of the other projects I joined over the years. Most likely it was due to my continual building of computers to keep up with current technologies. Some, I probably just lost interest in and still others have retired.
I decided to re-attache to Einstein on 22 Oct 2010 8:51:49 UTC since SETI is going through what I would like to call, a spurt of growth. They are receiving 2 new servers to better serve the project and the many users crunching for SETI. Even though my current PC, the i7, is up-to-date technology wise, I discovered that it has limitations that have now prevented me from continuing to crunch for Einstein. If and when I decide to address those limitations, I may resume crunching for Einstein.
